You can enjoy Sun Tanning on the beach, listen to the sound of waives, enjoy and relax in comfort, in quite beach side. When you feel it is getting too much sun, then jump into the lagoon and enjoy swimming in crystal clear lagoon. Do not forget to bring your favorite suntan lotion, hats, sunglasses…
Important things to remember :
The most important thing about visiting local islands in Maldives is to remember the laws of the land. Maldivian citizens are Muslims. As Tourists you are only asked to respect the culture and (obviously) abide to the country’s laws. Maldivians are friendly and incredibly welcoming, especially on local islands
Care needs to be taken in relation to the dress code on local islands. Whilst it is acceptable for men to wear T Shirts and shorts or swim shorts; females should avoid causing offence by maintaining a more conservative approach to clothes by wearing T Shirts, loose shorts or sarongs and avoid wearing bikinis and swimwear unless on an un- inhabited island, picnic island, sandbank
For your information, some guest-houses do provide private sunbathing areas on a tourist beach (designated area available in some local islands only) or on the terrace of the guesthouse, however, it is not acceptable to walk around the island wearing a bikini.
There is a total restriction on alcohol being available on inhabited local islands, which includes the capital Male and consumption of alcohol is prohibited in all local islands, including the Capital Male’.
