Villimale'

Villimale' is an island in the North Male' Atoll, administratively, known as Villimalé and considered the fifth district of Malé, Maldives. It lies about two kilometres west of Malé island and is reachable via local ferry service that operates 24 hours, between Malé and Villimalé. Villimale is formely called Villingili island and ealier the island was a tourist resort

Villimale' currently attracts a lot of local visitors and popular holiday destination among the residents of Male' and Hulhumale', especially during the weekends. There are several hotels and guest houses in Villimale' that also attract tourists from abroad.

Villingili is a beautiful island, gifted with its own white sandy beach and with clear blue water.

From the moment you step onto the island, you are astounded by its greenery and quaintness. It feels like you are miles away from Male’, and that’s what makes it appealing to many tourists. In addition, it is an accessible island where you can enjoy peaceful ‘picnics’ and mix with the locals on their own turf.

There are two beaches to choose from for your picnic. One, facing the house reef or another facing the skyline of Male’.

One of the island’s main attractions is its excellent house reef – a haven for snorkelers.
